My favorite quote is Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that because everyone needs to learn how to forgive and move on. If you hate someone because they hate you, both of you will never live peacefully, but if that person hates you and you learn to love them, that person may learn to love you as well. Also if a room is dark, you can't take away the darkness by making it even darker, the only way to get rid of the darkness is by adding light. Therefore, I think that this quote is very true and very important to remember.
ReplyDeleteI personally like MLK's quote "I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear." I like this quote because I think that when people say "I hate," they don't really mean it. Hate is a word that is very strong and even in the definition it says "Intense or passionate dislike" and a person can't necessarily "Hate" someone or something. They can dislike but they can't hate. You can however love someone/something. So I think that sticking with love sounds awesome, that's why I love this quote.

I also liked the one about forgiveness, but this quote really stood out to me. It's not the longest, it's actually one of the shortest, but it makes a point. Having faith is a hard thing to do, especially when you don't see exactly where it leads, but it's a very real part of life. In order to be faithful, you have to go do it, sitting back and letting others take the responsibility won't help you. Everyone is responsible for their own faith, and it's up to us to take the first step. -Katie King

ReplyDeleteI chose this quote because there are many things that require faith. But what is faith? That is a question that is often asked, and this quote really explains this to me.
