Putting others' needs before your own
1. When have you witnessed Selflessness or Self-Sacrifice?
2. Sometimes you have to sacrifice your own comfort or desire so that someone else's needs can be taken care of. Your parents have done this on a regular basis! What are some examples?
3. Have you ever had to give up something for someone else? Was it easy or hard? Give an example.
4. How do military members demonstrate self-sacrifice?
"There is no greater Love than to lay down one's life for his friends..."
And yet, how astounding it is when someone treats someone as a friend even if they don't really know them. THAT is what happened in historical events like the Underground Railroad and WW2. Let's look at a site that honors the lives of non-Jews who sacrificed their well-being, and sometimes the safety of their own family, in order to save the Jewish families.
