1. Have
you heard the saying, “Keeping up with the Joneses”?
It refers to someone wanting to keep up
appearances, measuring their worth by how much they can match or be better than
the people around them. In the
movie, George's son announces that the neighbors have
a new car. "Well, what's the matter with our car?" George snaps.
"Isn't it good enough for you?"
The question is, how are we defining our worth these days? It's
a Wonderful Life leaves us with a clear message about
that. "Dear George, remember no man is a failure who has friends. Thanks
for the wings. Love, Clarence."
Do you think that lesson applies to middle schoolers and people at
